Living NVC
NVC Annual Retreat, Romania
2nd to 8th July 2023
July will see our 9th Romanian Annual Retreat – places are limited to keep the retreat small so please book early.
Join us for 6 days in the heart of the Romanian mountains for an experience in bringing NVC to life – together with like-hearted people sharing a common passion for peacefully living together. The emphasis will be on creating a retreat where we can all get our needs met and can enjoy a mixture of relaxation, time in nature, deep connections and light workshops.
The retreat will be in English and places are limited so please book early.
The retreat will be hosted by two CNVC Certified Trainers ( Ian Peatey and Monica Reu) and we will use community circles and open space technology to build our time together with all who come. We will offer some workshops and we very much encourage participants to offer workshops and activities as well.
There will be no demands – only requests.
You are welcome to come with your children and/or partners – though we do ask that one of you is already familiar with NVC and as a guideline you will probably have attended at least 5 days of training with a Certified Trainer.
There are no pre-arranged activities for children or partners our wish is for them to join in community sessions and workshops – our aim will be to find ways to take care of the needs of all.
The retreat counts for 5 days accredited training for anyone wishing to become a CNVC Certified Trainer.
Location
The retreat will be in Pestera, near to Bran, with its world famous Dracula Castle. (See MAP)
Pestera itself sits on the top of a ridge and, surrounded on all sides by hills and mountains, is perfect for hiking or simply for slowing down into a more relaxed pace of life. We have selected Pestera for its beauty, tranquility and connection with a more traditional way of life.
We will stay in a local guest house* where the accommodation is comfortable, clean and basic. All rooms are double rooms (most ensuite) and air matresses/portable beds are available for families with children.
Food is home cooked, largely from locally grown sources and will cater for both meat-eaters and vegetarians.
* We may also use a neighbouring guest house for extra accommodation – we will still all eat and play together.
Travel
Coming from within Romania
The easiest way to get there is by car – we will provide detailed directions once your registration is confirmed.
If you do not drive then we will do our best to connect you with participants who are driving or help you with public transport options (train or bus to Brasov and then bus to Bran).
Coming from outside Romania
Travel is either by International Train from Budapest to Brasov (less than 1 hour to Pestera) or fly to Bucharest International Airport (about 3 hours to Pestera).
Once in Romania we will do everything we can to ensure you arrive at the retreat safely and relaxed. Romania, despite it’s reputation, is actually very safe and welcoming to visitors.
Contact us to discuss options and how we can help.
