Octavia Udrescu

Octavia Udrescu is passionate about Nonviolent Communication, a passion she discovered later in life while looking for an assertive and clear way of communicating. She is the mother of two daughters and has been in a couple relationship since 1993 – relationships that have brought her challenges and, with them, learning and growth. 

Her need for a fulfilling life has led her, over the years, to take part in numerous trainings on topics such as coaching, leadership, mediation, self-care and relationship management. 

She has integrated everything she has learned into her own life, bringing her peace of mind and a deeper connection with her own body and soul. In particular, the process of self-empathy has helped her have an inner life with more acceptance and gentleness. 

Since 2020, Octavia and Decebal Popescu have been running online Nonviolent Communication courses. They later created Ateliere CNV, a company whose purpose was to spread Nonviolent Communication to teachers and parents through workshops, online and offline.

In 2024, she translated into Romanian the book “Mr Rosenberg and the Cup of Coffee” by Gundi Gaschler, thus meeting her need for collaboration and partnership. The book contains short stories about how NVC can impact and improve our lives.

Having grown up in a society dominated by the word “must”, Octavia wants to support women and teach them about the beauty of needs and the power behind them.
